Narration-Based Classes

Lenna from Mozambique

Each of us comes from different worlds, and carries different worlds within ourselves. Children understand this, and if they choose us it’s because they feel they can trust us.

This trust is based on words and smiles, but also on rules of play and respect.

Because play, especially imaginative play that emerges around the age of 2-3, takes on a role of discovering the world, where the child experiences the first social rules and develops their personality.

Thanks to the explosion of language and imitative skills, they enrich themselves with elements and characters, becoming more elaborate and using objects as if they represented others.

  • Why using stories and topics is so powerful in music education with children age 3-5?

Children in this age group are naturally curious and imaginative. Introducing music through stories and topics captures their attention and makes the learning experience more engaging and enjoyable.

  • How can we combine this with Gordon’s MLT?

Stories and topics stimulate children’s creativity and imagination, encouraging them to express themselves through music and movement. This fosters creativity and critical thinking skills.

  • What’s at the base on the Narration-Based classes in the Music Tree Approach?

Music therapy and Improvisation Theatre are at the base of this type of framework.

COMBINING MUSIC AND STORYTELLING IS NOT OPENING A BOOK OR SINGING A SONG ABOUT AN ANIMAL

In the MUSIC TREE APPROACH is much more!

We start from an idea and we develop the whole class in cooperation with the children.

We imagine, play, sing, move, go to different worlds and come back after an adventure.
